Welcome!
Hi everyone,
Well, I guess winter didn’t pass us by after all! We’re getting a great amount of well-needed rain, which is fantastic for the course.
This coming Saturday, 3/24, we’ll be holding our second Demo Day with Cleveland Golf from 10-2. Please join us and check out their newest clubs.
Plus, our first Golf Clinic for 2018 will be held from April 7th – May 19th (Saturday for 7 weeks). Click here to view our event calendar to get more details.
We’re continuing to make improvements at the course – have you seen our new Afghan Pines along #2? Over time, we hope they will grow into a nice wind block for the course. We also planted some Modesto Ash trees elsewhere around the course.
Additional improvements include new targets on the range – we hope to replace nets in the near term. Stay tuned!

News from the Clubhouse
Another month went by so fast and here we are in March already! Great news – we have a new employee in the pro shop, her name is Christy! Drop in, introduce yourself, and say hi. Please have patience with her – there is quite a lot to navigate in our system and it takes a while to learn. I know Michele, Jann and I make it look easy but we have been here for years – some of us as long as this building, and that’s old…
Everyone knows “No two golf swings are alike they are like snowflakes”. If you want to work on your swing, we have a monthly Range Card that cost $49.95 for 30 days of unlimited use of the range. You can choose any size bucket – spend the day on the range, or drop in once or twice a week. You can also practice putting and chipping over at the putting green. Also check out our golf membership packages – they vary from 5 day to 7 day, monthly to annual, and senior to regular to junior memberships. They are very reasonable.
We have planted about 50 trees going down number 2 fairway and a few scattered throughout the course, hoping to help out with wind breaks along the fairway. lf your ball drops in close to the newly planted trees please pick up and drop a distance away from any branches you might hit in your swing. We want to give these trees a good start.
Looking to play in a tournament? We will help you set one up.
Go on our Twitter page, every day we try and keep you updated about the weather, frost delays, excessive wind and if we have any news at the course.
For info call the pro shop and we will give you the times and days if we have any tournaments scheduled. Don’t want to play golf? Try FootGolf for a fun time and you can also set up a FootGolf tournament – great for the younger kids who are on school vacation.
We hope you like the changes in the pro shop – makes it look less cluttered and quite a bit more open. ls there something you need, want or would like to purchase for someone else? Please let us know and we will do our best to carry it in the shop.
Hungry and want a snack? We have all kinds of candy, chips. cookies and an abundance of sodas and water. We also have a large variety of beers. We also usually have hot dogs and Polish dogs cooking and on the weekends, chili and pepper bellies.
We have quite a few lakes and canals on our course. I read this and thought it fit – “Water holes are sacrificial waters where you make a steady gift of your pride and high priced golf balls”.
If you have any suggestions or questions, feel free to ask the starters and we’ll do our best to answer.

Tips from Our Pro
Here we are headed into our first Major of the year – And you’re trying to find consistency in your game/scores…Just like many of The PGA & LPGA stars experience this time of year. You’re not alone!
BUT, it’s sometimes little things that we miss that can make the biggest difference. A great example can be as small as the balls you practice your putting and chipping with. Do they all match? Are they the same ball that you play on the course? If you answered no to either one of those then you are probably not getting the consistency in your short game sessions that you deserve.
YES, something as simple as this could effect the outcome of your game/scores a lot more than you think, If you’re trying to obtain consistency, but have a distance ball on one chip – A low compression ball on the next followed by a Titleist Prov1x then a high trajectory ball…How can we gain any form of data when every shot has a different component to it? Some balls are softer – Some firmer -Some roll out more – Others add spin – Right down to sound of the ball. Some are sharp – Others have a thud for acoustics when hit properly. Makes sense doesn’t it?
Do yourself a favor and purchase a “Shag Bag” along with 2 to 3 dozen of the balls you are going to play with – Practice your short game with the same tools that you trust during your round. PRACTICE WITH A PURPOSE!..It’s a very small investment that could lower your scores by a couple strokes a round. How easy was that?
Last piece of advice – With the cooler weather a softer compression ball usually reacts better and travels further – In most cases it can minimize the amount of slice you might be experiencing off the driver also.
Be Good To Each Other!
