Welcome!
Hi everyone,
Hope
you are enjoying the holidays with family and friends. We are currently
visiting family in North Carolina where it’s been raining almost every

News from the Clubhouse
Well
the holidays have crept upon us so-ooo fast not just for me but I have
heard it from everyone “where did 2018 go?” And people are already
making plans for the New Year. We are open New Year’s day but not
Christmas so call and make a tee time hopefully no frost, we do go on
our Twitter feed and will let everyone know the conditions out here. We
have hand warmers here that last up to 6 hours not sure about the 12 but
they certainly keep the hands warm I use them myself.
We have some great deals here inside the club house. New jackets, visors, shirts and a variety of clubs, balls, tees and Gift Cards in any domination that you would like to spend. Those are the best especially if you aren’t sure what to get a friend or someone in your family. All Men’s Club leagues are teeing off at 9:00 am. The mornings are getting to be in the low 20’s and so far, not too much frost but that is just right around the corner.
We are starting to serve Hot chili to put on those hot dogs on the cooler days, also if your on the course and are getting hungry you can call the pro shop (around the 6th hole) and request a hot dog or sandwich and we will do our best to have it ready for you when you come in to sit and eat or take it with you while you make the turn. If you have a complaint about something on the course, be it the players or the course itself please talk to the starters and we will try and go over the problem with you and find a way to improve your golfing experience. We do have a suggestion box that the owner Michele reads and will try her best to fix the problem or get something in here that you request or just change something that needs to be changed all ideas are taken seriously.
If
you want to golf during the Christmas holidays or set up a tournament
with your friends, family or co-workers the staff in the pro shop will
help you or if you are just interested in tee times you can always go on
our Web Site www.ranchosierragolf.com and make a tee time. We will be
open everyday of the month except for Christmas Day. “You’re only here
for a short visit. Don’t hurry, don’t worry and be sure to stop and say
hello to a stranger.”

Tips from Our Pro
What’s New and Exciting?
With
The Holidays here, many of you have asked that bearded delivery man for
some new Golf Gadgets to help you with your swing…Oh the mess I’m in –
What have you got yourself into?
Now
after every swing on the range…After every shot on the course you’re
looking at your tempo/swing speed or inputting which club you are using
onto your watch or app to see how far you hit it or how far is that
hazard to the right?
At
the end of the day, you take a deep sigh and look at all that great
data you’ve gathered and wonder why you shot the same score as always
and haven’t gained any yardage or hit any more greens?
Truth
be told that if you don’t know how to break down the information and
know how those numbers came about, it will not help you in any way and
might actually create confusion.
There
is an art to reading that data and being able to troubleshoot or
reinforce why the numbers look so good…Here is a great example: Many
individuals look at swing speed and say in order to generate more speed
I’m going to have to swing harder! Myth! If you look at many of the
students’ swings which I post on Instagram/Facebook/Twitter you will
notice that their club head speed is only moderate but due to their set
up/club path and full finishes their smash factor gets the ball out
there accurately with almost no effort.
Knowing
how a swing’s sequence works helps to analyze the back spin/side
spin/launch angle/drop angle, etc. Without the proper training and
experience you may be assuming that you are correcting or reinforcing
good habits and might be rehearsing incorrect muscle memory.
So
before you try to decipher all that valuable info see an
instructor/coach/club fitter that can guide you in the right direction
before it’s too late!
Be Good To Each Other!
